What is SimpleStreamOverlay?
SimpleStreamOverlay is a Windows desktop companion for streamers. It brings supported YouTube, Twitch and Kick live chat into one overlay and includes live viewer counters, OBS and stream previews, automatic chat detection, click-through controls, message-rate monitoring and local chat archiving.
Which streaming platforms are supported?
The current desktop app supports live chat and viewer monitoring for YouTube, Twitch and Kick.
Which browsers does the Browser Bridge support?
The Browser Bridge supports Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Each browser installs from its official store listing and receives store-managed updates.
How much does SimpleStreamOverlay cost?
SimpleStreamOverlay offers £7.99 per month, £69.99 per year, or £149.99 for a lifetime licence. Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until cancelled. Every plan includes up to two active Windows devices.
How are card payments handled?
Checkout is hosted securely by Square. SimpleStreamOverlay does not receive or store your full card number, and a purchase is fulfilled only after the server verifies Square’s signed payment notification.
How is my licence delivered?
After payment is verified, the Purchase Complete page securely claims the entitlement, displays your licence key and authorises the protected Windows download.
How many devices can I activate?
The standard SimpleStreamOverlay licence allows up to two active Windows devices at the same time.
How do I deactivate a device?
Right-click the SimpleStreamOverlay system-tray icon and choose “Deactivate This Device”. This releases the activation slot, and the app will ask for a licence the next time it opens.
Is the desktop app download link public?
No. The paid Windows release ZIP is stored in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket and the API checks the secure purchase claim and active entitlement before streaming it. The small Browser Bridge extension package is public so supported browser users can install the companion extension separately.
Is the customer account portal available?
Online account self-service is temporarily paused while the account service is finalised. Purchase fulfilment and desktop licence activation remain available; contact support for account, licence or device help.
How do I install the Browser Bridge?
For Microsoft Edge, open the official Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing, select Get and confirm Add extension. For Google Chrome, open the approved Chrome Web Store listing, select Add to Chrome and confirm Add extension. For Mozilla Firefox, open the official Mozilla Add-ons listing, select Add to Firefox and confirm Add. Then refresh supported YouTube, Twitch or Kick pages.
